    ABOUT THIS GIFT.

Africa's diplomatic capital, high in the Ethiopian highlands, is the subject of this Addis Ababa map art print. Its streets are drawn as bold graphic art, a meaningful gift for Ethiopians and coffee lovers everywhere.

Addis Ababa, whose name means 'new flower' in Amharic, was founded in 1886 by Emperor Menelik II and Empress Taytu. At about 2,355 metres above sea level, it is one of the highest capital cities in the world. It is home to the headquarters of the African Union. The National Museum keeps the fossil skeleton known as Lucy, more than three million years old. Merkato is one of the largest open-air markets in Africa, and Ethiopia is widely regarded as the birthplace of coffee, which is still served in traditional ceremonies.

Go small with A5 or A4, mid-size with A3, or bold with A2 or A1. Then choose one of 18 looks, from Terracotta to Forest or Pastel. This is decorative cartography, not a travel map.

Building a travel wall? Add the Nairobi map print, Kampala map print and Cairo map print, then explore the other map art prints.
