A door topper is a small lettered sign that rests on the ledge above your door frame. No drilling, no brackets, nothing glued to the paintwork — it simply sits there and gives the room a voice. It's the cheapest change you can make to a hallway that people actually notice, and it's become our biggest-selling category by a long way.

This collection holds 187 designs, every one of them designed and 3D printed by us in North Wales. Prices start at £14.99, every design can be made with your own wording at no extra cost, and there are 23 colours and three sizes to choose from.

What size door topper do I need?

Our toppers come in 20cm, 30cm and 38.5cm widths. As a rule, the sign should span roughly a third to a half of the door's width — any narrower and it looks lost, any wider and it overhangs the architrave.

  • 610–686mm doors (2'0"–2'3", typically bathrooms, box rooms and cupboards) — choose 20cm
  • 762mm doors (2'6", the most common internal door in England and Wales) — choose 30cm, or 38.5cm for a bolder statement
  • 813–838mm doors (2'8"–2'9", wider living rooms and accessible doorways) — choose 38.5cm

Longer phrases need more width to stay legible, so if you're personalising with a full name or a sentence rather than a couple of words, size up. Our complete UK door topper guide has the full sizing table, a 60-second measuring method and what to do if your door frame has no ledge at all.

Personalise any design

Every topper in this collection has a personalisation box on its product page. Type in your own wording and that's exactly what we print — a child's name above a bedroom door, a family surname above the front door, a wedding date, a business name, or the inside joke only four people in the world understand. There's no surcharge for custom text, because every topper is printed to order from scratch anyway.

3D printed, not laser-cut

Most door toppers on the market are cut from flat acrylic sheet. Ours are 3D printed in premium PLA, which gives the lettering genuine depth — it casts a shadow on the wall and reads clearly from across a room. Because the colour is in the material rather than painted on, there's nothing to chip and no cut edge showing a different shade, which is how we can offer 23 colours from White, Black and Silver through to Gold, Magenta, Pine Green and Dark Blue.

Door toppers as gifts

Door toppers are exceptional gifts precisely because they require no size, no colour-matching and no interior design knowledge on your part. The only thing you need to know is the recipient's sense of humour. At this price point they work as a stocking filler or a standalone present, and because nothing is drilled or glued, they're one of the very few decor gifts that suit someone renting or in student halls.

Door topper FAQs

How do door toppers attach?

They rest on the flat ledge on top of the architrave — the moulding around the door frame — leaning very slightly back against the wall. No screws, no brackets, no adhesive. Ours are 3D printed in lightweight PLA so they sit comfortably even on a shallow ledge.

Will it damage the door or frame?

No. Nothing is drilled, screwed or glued, so there's nothing to fill or repaint when you take it down.

Do they fit all doors?

Almost all internal doors, as long as there's a ledge on top of the frame. Standard UK architrave is 15mm, 18mm or 25mm thick, which is plenty. Flush uPVC front doors, plaster-in linings finished level with the wall and open archways won't take one — in those cases the topper sits just as happily on a shelf, mantelpiece or windowsill.

Can I have my own wording?

Yes, on every design, at no extra cost. Use the personalisation box on the product page. Keep it under around 15 characters for the biggest letters, or size up to 30cm or 38.5cm for longer text.

How long will my order take?

Because each topper is printed to order, our average turnaround is 2–5 working days, extending slightly during busy periods such as Christmas. UK orders then typically arrive 1–3 working days after dispatch. Shipping is calculated at checkout — see our FAQs for full details.

Are they suitable for outdoors?

They're designed for indoor use — hallways, bedrooms, kitchens, home offices and studios.
