    ABOUT THIS GIFT.

Whitewashed buildings rising above a Mediterranean bay give Algiers its nickname, the White City, and this Algiers map art print captures it as elegant graphic art. A thoughtful gift for Algerians and North Africa travellers.

Algiers is the capital of Algeria, the largest country in Africa. Its old Casbah, a steep warren of lanes and Ottoman-era houses, became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1992. The basilica of Notre-Dame d'Afrique looks out over the bay from a clifftop. The Maqam Echahid, or Martyrs' Memorial, was unveiled in 1982 to mark twenty years of independence. The Great Mosque of Algiers, completed in recent years, has the tallest minaret in the world. The film The Battle of Algiers was shot in the city's streets.

It is offered in A5, A4, A3, A2 and A1, with 18 palettes to match a room, for instance Midnight Blue, Sage or Emerald. Think of it as a decorative print and not a map to navigate by.

Related designs: the Casablanca map print, the Fez map print and the Marrakech map print. There are more in our map art prints.
