      ABOUT THIS GIFT.

One of the oldest cities in South America, on the banks of the Paraguay River, is the subject of this Asunción map art print. Its streets are drawn in clean graphic style, a proud piece for Paraguayans everywhere.

Asunción was founded by Spanish explorers in 1537 and is often called the Mother of Cities, because expeditions set out from here to found other settlements across the region, including Buenos Aires. It stands on the east bank of the Paraguay River and is the capital of Paraguay. The Palacio de los López, the presidential palace, faces the river, and the National Pantheon of the Heroes holds the remains of the country's national figures. Paraguay has two national languages, and Guaraní is spoken alongside Spanish on the city's streets.

Size options are A5, A4, A3, A2 and A1; colour comes in 18 variations including Japanese Ink, Rustic and Coral. Please note it is intended as art and not for navigation.

You might also like the Buenos Aires map print, Montevideo map print and La Paz map print, all part of our South America map prints.
