The world's most famous detective inspires this Baker Street sign, a perfect gift for Sherlock Holmes fans, mystery readers and London lovers.
Baker Street takes its name from the builder William Baker, who laid it out in the 18th century. It is forever linked with Sherlock Holmes, whose fictional address was 221B Baker Street, and a museum devoted to the detective now welcomes fans from around the world. Baker Street station opened in 1863 on the Metropolitan Railway, the world's first underground line, and its platforms are decorated with tiles showing Holmes in silhouette. Gerry Rafferty's 1978 hit Baker Street, with its famous saxophone riff, gave the road a soundtrack, and Madame Tussauds is close by on Marylebone Road.
The metal sign is offered Clean or Rusted. A6 measures 10.5 × 14.8cm, A5 21 × 14.8cm, A4 28.3 × 19.7cm and A3 42 × 30.5cm. It makes a playful accent in a living room, a den or a student flat.
