    Antalya is the largest city on Turkey's Mediterranean coast, often called the Turkish Riviera. Its old quarter, Kaleiçi, is a maze of narrow lanes and Ottoman houses around a Roman harbour. Hadrian's Gate was built in honour of the emperor's visit in AD 130. The long Konyaaltı and Lara beaches stretch either side of the city, and the Lower Düden Waterfall plunges straight off a cliff into the sea. The Taurus Mountains form a dramatic backdrop, and the city is one of the most visited destinations in the world.
