Ivy walls and Cubs pride inspire this Wrigley Field distance sign, a perfect gift for Chicago baseball fans and ballpark collectors.
Wrigley Field opened in 1914 and has been home to the Chicago Cubs since 1916, making it the second-oldest ballpark in the major leagues after Fenway Park. The ivy on its outfield brick walls was planted in 1937, and the scoreboard above the bleachers is still operated by hand. Lights were not installed until 1988, so for decades every home game was played in daylight. In 2016 the Cubs won the World Series, ending a famous 108-year wait, and fans call the ballpark the Friendly Confines.
