    A mighty castle on the Menai Strait anchors this Caernarfon map art print. The Gwynedd town appears as crisp graphic art, a lovely piece for Welsh speakers, castle lovers and visitors to Eryri.

    Edward I began building Caernarfon Castle in 1283, with banded walls and polygonal towers said to echo the walls of Constantinople. In 1969 it hosted the investiture of Prince Charles as Prince of Wales. Together with the town walls, it forms part of the UNESCO-listed Castles and Town Walls of King Edward in Gwynedd. Caernarfon is one of the most Welsh-speaking towns in Wales, the Welsh Highland Railway sets off from here towards Porthmadog through the mountains, and Yr Wyddfa, also known as Snowdon, is a short drive away.
