    Lunges, parries and lightning reflexes inspire this fencing street sign, a great gift for fencers, coaches and fans of this elegant combat sport.

    Fencing is one of only a handful of sports that have featured at every modern Olympic Games since 1896. There are three weapons, the foil, the épée and the sabre, each with its own target area and rules. Bouts take place on a narrow strip called the piste, 14 metres long, and touches have been recorded electronically for decades. Referees still use French commands such as en garde, prêts and allez, a reminder of the sport's long European history.

    Four lengths are offered, 20 × 10cm, 28.3 × 10cm, 40.5 × 14.1cm and 45.7 × 15.2cm. Pick from twelve shades, from black and grey to pink, purple, orange, light green and light blue, plus blue, brown, green, red and yellow. The wording comes from the text box on the product page, which has to be completed before adding to the basket.
