    Wrestling is one of the oldest sports on record, with holds painted on the walls of ancient Egyptian tombs at Beni Hasan around 4,000 years ago. It was added to the ancient Olympic Games in 708 BC and has featured in the modern Games almost from the start. Olympic wrestling has two styles: freestyle, and Greco-Roman, which bans holds below the waist. Britain has its own traditions too, such as Cumberland and Westmorland wrestling, still contested at summer shows in the north of England. In Japan, sumo wrestlers compete in six grand tournaments every year. Most bouts are won on points or by pinning both of an opponent's shoulders to the mat.
