Desert baseball comes home with this Chase Field distance sign, a great gift for Arizona Diamondbacks fans and ballpark collectors.
Chase Field opened in Phoenix in 1998 as Bank One Ballpark, known to fans as the BOB, and was renamed in 2005. Built for the Arizona Diamondbacks, it has a retractable roof and air conditioning to beat the summer heat. A swimming pool sits just beyond the outfield fence, where fans can cool off during the game. In 2001 the Diamondbacks won the World Series against the New York Yankees, sealing Game 7 at home with Luis Gonzalez's walk-off single. The ballpark hosted the All-Star Game in 2011.
