Remember the Mariners' old ballpark name with this Safeco Field distance sign, a nostalgic gift for Seattle baseball fans near and far.
Safeco Field opened in July 1999 as the home of the Seattle Mariners, replacing the concrete Kingdome. Its huge retractable roof covers the field on rainy days without fully enclosing it, so fans still feel the Pacific Northwest air. In 2001 the Mariners won 116 regular-season games, tying the major league record, and the ballpark hosted the All-Star Game that summer. Ichiro Suzuki thrilled crowds there for years, a statue of Ken Griffey Jr. stands outside, and the stadium was renamed T-Mobile Park in 2019.
