    Chicago sits on the southwestern shore of Lake Michigan and is the third-largest city in the United States. After the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, it rebuilt quickly and became the birthplace of the skyscraper. The Willis Tower, once the tallest building in the world, offers a see-through ledge high above the streets. Millennium Park is home to the mirrored Cloud Gate sculpture, known as the Bean.
