    Long Beach sits on San Pedro Bay, south of Los Angeles, and its port is one of the busiest container ports in the United States. The ocean liner Queen Mary has been moored in the harbour since 1967 and now operates as a hotel and attraction. Every spring, the Grand Prix of Long Beach turns downtown streets into a racetrack, a tradition dating back to 1975. The Aquarium of the Pacific showcases sea life from across the ocean, and rapper Snoop Dogg grew up in the city.
