    Milan is the capital of Lombardy and one of the world's fashion capitals, with twice-yearly fashion weeks and the elegant Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II at its heart. The Duomo, a vast Gothic cathedral decorated with more than three thousand statues, took nearly six centuries to complete. Leonardo da Vinci's mural The Last Supper is in the refectory of Santa Maria delle Grazie.
