    ABOUT THIS GIFT.

From the Gulf Coast to Rocket City, this Welcome to Alabama sign celebrates the state with "Welcome to Alabama" and "The Yellowhammer State" in white lettering on a green panel trimmed with a slim white keyline. The words are fixed as pictured.

The yellowhammer, a northern flicker with bright yellow wing feathers, is the state bird, and the nickname is usually traced to the Civil War, when Alabama troops wore yellow-trimmed uniforms. Montgomery, the state capital, was the scene of the 1955 bus boycott, and Huntsville's space centre earned it the Rocket City name. It is a thoughtful gift for an Alabama football fan, someone who has holidayed at Gulf Shores, or a friend with family in Birmingham or Mobile.

Hang it in a den, a kitchen or a games room, or stand the A6 on a shelf. Clean shows sharp colour; Rusted gives a printed, roadside-aged finish. The sign is a decorative reproduction, not official or reclaimed signage.

    • Sizes: A6 - 10.5 x 14.8 cm, A5 - 21 x 14.8 cm, A4 - 28.3 x 19.7 cm or A3 - 42 x 30.5 cm, each in a Clean or Rusted style

Neighbouring Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee make good companions, and all fifty are in our US state signs collection.
