    Music City, Memphis blues and misty mountains: this Welcome to Tennessee sign captures them in a simple design. It shows "Welcome to Tennessee" and "The Volunteer State" in white type on a green road-style panel finished with a white keyline. The wording is fixed as shown.

    The nickname honours the many Tennesseans who volunteered to fight in the War of 1812, notably under Andrew Jackson at the Battle of New Orleans. Nashville is the capital and home of the Grand Ole Opry, while Memphis has Graceland, Elvis Presley's home, and the blues clubs of Beale Street. In the east, Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the most visited national park in the country.
