    ABOUT THIS GIFT.

For Tar Heels near and far, this Welcome to North Carolina sign prints "Welcome to North Carolina" and "The Tar Heel State" in white capitals on a green, highway-inspired panel with a narrow white keyline. The wording is fixed as pictured.

North Carolina's pine forests once made it a leading producer of tar, pitch and turpentine, and legend says its soldiers stood their ground in battle as if they had tar on their heels. The University of North Carolina's teams carry the name. Raleigh is the state capital, the Wright brothers made the first powered flight near Kitty Hawk in 1903, and the Blue Ridge Mountains around Asheville frame the Biltmore Estate. It suits basketball fans, Outer Banks holidaymakers and anyone with roots in Charlotte.

It looks good in a den, a beach-house-style bathroom or a garage. Choose Clean for a fresh, graphic look, or Rusted for a printed, rust-effect finish. This is decorative wall art and not an official or reclaimed road sign.

    • Sizes: A6 - 10.5 x 14.8 cm, A5 - 21 x 14.8 cm, A4 - 28.3 x 19.7 cm or A3 - 42 x 30.5 cm, each in a Clean or Rusted style

Complete the Carolinas with South Carolina, or add Virginia to the north and Tennessee to the west. See every design in our US state welcome signs.
