Barbecue, blues and a famous arch: this Welcome to Missouri sign prints "Welcome to Missouri" and "The Show Me State" in white capitals on a green highway-style panel with a fine white keyline. It is the fixed design pictured, with no extra wording.
The nickname is popularly credited to Congressman Willard Vandiver, who said in 1899, "I'm from Missouri, and you have got to show me." Jefferson City is the capital, St. Louis has the Gateway Arch, the tallest man-made monument in the US, and Kansas City is famous for barbecue and jazz. Mark Twain grew up in Hannibal, on the Mississippi River, which later inspired Tom Sawyer.
Put it in a kitchen, a man cave or a hallway. The metal sign is waterproof. Choose Clean for a bright, tidy finish, or Rusted for printed rust-style ageing rather than actual corrosion. It is decorative wall art, not an official sign.
