    ABOUT THIS GIFT.

Snowy peaks above leafy avenues make Almaty one of Central Asia's most striking cities, and this Almaty map art print captures its street plan in graphic form. It's a meaningful gift for Kazakh families and adventurous travellers.

Almaty is the largest city in Kazakhstan and was the country's capital until 1997, when the government moved to Astana. It sits at the foot of the Trans-Ili Alatau, a northern range of the Tian Shan, and the mountains are visible from much of the city. A short drive up the valley leads to the Medeu high-altitude skating rink and the Shymbulak ski resort, while Big Almaty Lake glows turquoise in summer. The region is thought to be the ancestral home of the apple, and a cable car climbs Kok Tobe hill for views over the city.

Pick from five sizes (A5, A4, A3, A2 or A1) and 18 colourways such as Copper, Midnight Blue or Sage. It is wall art, not a navigational map.

Others in the same part of the world include the Bishkek map print and the Tashkent map print; the rest are in Asia map prints.
