Give a Pyrenean classic a wide road-sign shape with this Col d'Aubisque D918 Route Sign in a long format.
The Aubisque provided one of the Tour's most famous accidents in 1951, when the Dutch race leader Wim van Est crashed off the road on the descent and fell into a ravine. He was hauled back up using a rope made of knotted tyres, and survived to tell the tale. The western approach passes through the ski village of Gourette before the last steep kilometres to the summit at 1,709m. Expect sheep, cows and horses on the road in summer, and plenty of company.
Small (20 × 10cm) and Medium (28.3 × 10cm) fit above a desk or doorway, while Large (40.5 × 14.1cm) and XL (45.7 × 15.2cm) fill a wider wall. Go Clean for a fresh road-sign look, or Rusted for printed wear that looks like years on a mountainside. Put it where you train, where you store the bikes, or where you plan the next trip as a metal sign; it is decor, not a real road marker.
Also in the range are the Col du Tourmalet D918 Route Sign – Square, Luz Ardiden D12 Route Sign – Long Format and Mont Ventoux D974 Route Sign, plus plenty more sports signs.
