    Fresh powder and halfpipe tricks inspire this snowboarding street sign, a perfect gift for boarders, ski-season workers and anyone counting down to winter.

    Snowboarding traces its roots to the Snurfer, a toy made in Michigan in 1965 by Sherman Poppen, who bound two skis together for his daughters. In 1977 Jake Burton Carpenter founded a company that helped turn the idea into a mainstream sport. Snowboarding made its Olympic debut at Nagano in 1998, and today the Games include halfpipe, slopestyle, big air and snowboard cross. Shaun White won three Olympic halfpipe golds, and indoor snow centres let British riders practise all year round. Boarders ride with one foot forward, called regular if it is the left and goofy if it is the right.

    The metal sign comes in twelve colours: black, blue, brown, green, orange, pink, purple, red, yellow, grey, light green and light blue. It is made in 20 × 10cm, 28.3 × 10cm, 40.5 × 14.1cm and 45.7 × 15.2cm.
